FLU CLINICS

As per last year, flu clinics are being delivered by the health board.

Patients should direct flu queries to the vaccination helpline on 0808 196 8383 / email wi.covidvax@nhs.scot

TEMPORARY REGISTRATION

Please contact your own GP in the first instance. We are a single handed Practice and accept Temporary Residents on a first come first served basis, until we have reached our capacity. In an emergency please contact Uist & Barra hospital in Benbecula 01870 603600

If you would like to register with our practice on a temporary basis, please do this on line. Under exceptional circumstances we can provide forms for you to take away and complete.

CHANGE TO MEDICATION DELIVERIES

Easter Deliveries - Wednesday 12th April (South End) and Thursday 13th April (North End)

In light of recent fuel price increases, it is appropriate to streamline our service.

Our main deliveries will be as follows;

Tuesdays– Southend and Eriskay

Thursdays– Northend and Benbecula

If you can plan requests for repeat medications and deliveries accordingly, it would be much appreciated.

DISPENSARY CLOSED TUESDAY & THURSDAY AFTERNOON

We are closed for lunch between 13.00 - 14.00

COVID-19 ROUTINE

When you arrive at the surgery, please be sure to phone reception or ring the doorbell and let reception know you're here. Once we know you're here, please wait in your car and someone will be out to get you as soon as possible.

Please also remember that the surgery is closed from 1pm till 2pm.

COVID-19 VACCINATION HELPLINE

For more information about your vaccination appointment, phone 0800 030 8013 (available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week).

It will not be possible to book or change vaccine appointments via the helpline.

EXEMPTIONS ON FACE COVERINGS

The Scottish Government have advised that people are not required to carry proof that they are exempt from wearing face masks for medical reasons. Exemption letters or certificates are not required and the individual's word should be accepted by relevant organisations.

PRESCRIPTIONS THROUGH PATIENT ACCESS

South Uist Medical Practice is now connected to Patient Access, meaning you can order your prescriptions through their website or through the app. To set up Patient Access, please contact dispensary either by phone or email wi.southuistdispensary@nhs.scot

The NHS are promoting some apps to help you manage your well being during COVID-19.

SMEAR CLINICS

We are aware that appointments for regular smear tests have been disrupted by the lockdown and COVID outbreak. So we are going to hold some 'catch up' clinics and we are inviting any of those who have missed out to contact the practice to book a suitable appointment.

COVID-19 TEST AND PROTECT PHONELINE NOW LIVE

Any Western Isles resident who develops symptoms of COVID-19 (including a new, persistent cough, high temperature or loss or change in sense of taste or smell) can book a test via the new phoneline on: 01851 601 151
