Urgent Unscheduled Care

What is urgent unscheduled care?

Urgent unscheduled care is care that requires action at the time of contact with the practice. It does not apply to the delivery of routine or non-urgent services.

The Western Isles Urgent Unscheduled Care team will provide visits to patients that meet the criteria for home visits;

  • Patients who are most appropriately seen in their own home, Care or Nursing home and who have an acute urgent medical need
  • Exacerbation or worsening COPD, asthma, or acute breathlessness (non-complex)
  • New sudden reduced mobility without obvious cause
  • New minor injuries (falls, wounds, etc.) for patients that are housebound and unable to attend.
